Rick Woods
I have always been an artist, since a magical moment that is one of my early memories, of drawing a simple train at the kitchen table.
At some point after that, my second grade teacher apologized to my parents at a school open house one night. “I can’t get him to do anything but draw….”
I paint seascapes and mountain scenery; then liberally sprinkle in some still life, portraiture, wildlife and travel scenes to round out the subjects in my portfolio.
Gotta make some moola, so woodworking, construction, writing, photography, graphic design, publishing all filled my days until I was promoted into management.
In 2009, after a stint in an engineering position, I decided to give the full-time working artist concept a go. I continued to edit arts newsletters and volunteered as Publicist for several organizations.
Since moving to Washington State in 2018, I have worked with several local arts organizations and galleries, participated in studio tours, educational program promotions, gallery exhibits and competitions.
